When planning an event, whether it be for a wedding, birthday party or even a corporate function, there's no better idea than booking a live band to come and perform, but when should you start enquiring?
Here at Henderson Management we always recommend you begin making your enquiries as soon as you have an idea of the type of act you want at your function (if you're not sure what you're looking for we can assist). Booking 18 months or so in advance will pretty much guarantee the band you want will be available to perform on your preferred date (and if not, you'll have enough time to find another suitable act). As a minimum, booking 6 months in advance is a fairly safe amount of time, however depending on things such as the time of year and day of the week, you may not be so spoiled for choice.
If you're looking at popular acts for your event, it's likely that most of their peak summer dates will be booked up by January. From May through to August are often the busiest months for most live bands as well as November and December for Christmas events of course. Saturdays are naturally the most popular dates for bands all year round so if you've opted for a Thursday, Friday or Sunday, you can probably afford to leave it a little later before you book your a band. We would recommend enquiring a year before your event regardless.
