People will have many different answers for this question but in short, the answer is YES!
I believe that there is a strong obligation and expectation to provide entertainment for the invited guests at a wedding.
Maybe this isn't a good enough reason for you and you want more of a reason as to why you should entertain your guests, let me tell you.
A lot of your guests, if not all may have travelled a long distance, had to take time off from work and/or pay for a hotel or other accommodation to attend your special day.
Your guests have to be patient and quiet throughout the majority of your wedding day. Having to endure speeches from yourself, your partner, both sets of parents, the best man and maid of honour. This is a lot to take in during one day and can be very draining.
The least we can do in return is to provide them with some great music to dance to by an incredible band and some delicious food to eat.
Your entertainment can also be a fun suprise or a great treat for the first dance between the Bride and Groom OR the Bride and her father.
A lot of guests see the entertainment and meal provided at a wedding as a thank you for supporting the Bride and Groom, attending, dressing up, travelling and taking time out of their own schedule to be there for your party. I happen to agree.
